About our founder

Alicia Brauer is a dedicated performer, professional singer, director, producer and voice teacher based out of Kona, Hawaii.  Alicia’s career has led her through a myriad of aspects of the music and entertainment business, later leading to show production with an emphasis on performance and vocal direction, and culminating into the creation of her own vocal studio.

The foundation of her career was established through professions in support of music promotion and education, including public relations for the Boston based firm Elevate Communications and administrative support in the President’s office of New England Conservatory of Music.  The experience garnered from these professions, alongside a passion for performance, later led to two large scale productions, co-produced, directed and performed alongside her husband Dan Brauer.  These included All That Is Now, a live tribute to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and ShakaStock: a tribute to the best of Woodstock 1969, performed at sold out theaters across the Big Island of Hawaii, and to an audience of nearly 1,000 patrons at the historic Hawaii Theatre on the island of Oahu. These productions not only deepened her devotion to singing and performing, but also reinforced her love for working with vocalists.

In an effort to improve both as a vocalist and voice teacher, Alicia continued to seek out ways to simultaneously teach and learn.  This led to taking on the role of Voice Teacher for the Kahilu Theatre Arts Outreach program, four years of vocal study with highly acclaimed professional opera singer Renee Tatum, and the creation of Kona Voice, private vocal instruction founded on the belief that anyone can sing with the right method and encouragement.  In an effort to take a deeper dive into vocal pedagogy, Alicia then sought out a program that could provide a comprehensive, hands on study of the voice, leading to New York Vocal Coaching’s Voice Teacher Training and Certification, one of the best decisions she has made to bring both her own voice and her teaching to the next level.

Alicia continues to perform both at home in Hawaii and across the country with her husband Dan Brauer, and is a full time voice teacher and musician.  She is grateful to have two professions that inspire her every day and hopes to teach and sing for a lifetime.
